Evelyn Lozada Reveals How Her Daughter Shaniece Helped Her Through Her DOMESTIC ABUSE Scandal
In a special edition of Rolling Out, "BBW" star Evelyn Lozada posed for a mother-daughter spread with her 20-year-old daughter Shaniece, where they discussed being best friends and leaning on each other for support. Evelyn said,
“We are always together, and even when one of us is away, [we're] constantly check in with each other. But that’s how it has always been between us since the beginning. Even though I had her young, I always made sure that she knew I was mom, but that she could also come to me and confide in me about anything."
Evelyn also revealed how Shaniece was her comforter through the Chad Ochocinco domestic abuse scandal. Here are the highlights:
Shaniece, as you reflect on the relationship that you have with your mother, can you think of a time when you were really proud of her, and were proud that she was your mother?
Shaniece: When she left her domestic abuse relationship, I was really proud of her. I felt like she stood up for herself, and I think that she set a good example for other women. I knew that she had it in her, but I don’t think that everyone else did, so I’m really proud of her for that.
Before this moment, have you let her know how proud of her you are for that?
Shaniece: Yeah, she knows … and we’ve been together since then.
Evelyn: We were literally together for eight months since that happened [crying] … I even slept with her. After everything happened, and my life was upside down, it was tough because I had to live all of that out in the public … everybody had an opinion, and even now I’m sure there will be some people who say “b—-, you’re still crying over that?” … but she went through that with me from the beginning. She went to the hospital with me.
Shaniece: It was crazy, because I wasn’t even supposed to be there. I was living in L.A. and she was living in Miami
Evelyn: She was on vacation, and she was home when the situation happened, and it was very humiliating for me to have her see me like that. It was probably one of the biggest low points of my life — especially because I’m so protective of her. I’m mom, and I’m supposed to be strong, so it was hard to have her see me like that … so we were literally connected at the hip from that point on.
Shaniece: I think that it made us closer. Strangely, I didn’t think that we could get any closer, but I think that the situation made us grow closer.

TV Psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers Dies At 85
Dr. Joyce Brothers, whose long-running television show dispensed advice on life and relationships to her viewers, has died in New York at age 85, according to her publicist.
She died on Monday of natural causes, Sanford Brokaw said.
Brothers, who was a pioneer of the television advice show, first gained fame as a winning contestant on the television game show "The $64,000 Question" in 1955, becoming the only woman ever to win the top prize. The AP says:
"She memorized 20 volumes of a boxing encyclopedia — and, with that as her subject, became the only woman and the second person to ever win the show's top prize.
Brothers tried her luck again on the superseding "$64,000 Challenge," answering each question correctly and earning the dubious distinction as one of the biggest winners in the history of television quiz shows. She later denied any knowledge of cheating, and during a 1959 hearing in the quiz show scandal, a producer exonerated her of involvement."
By 1958, the same year she became a licensed psychologist, Brothers had her own TV show on a local New York City station. She later became a nationwide celebrity as the host of a series of shows on network television.
TMZ reports:
"She also did cameo appearances in movies — including 'Naked Gun' and 'C.H.i.P.s' ... and also appeared on TV shows like 'The Love Boat.'
Brothers was married to internist Milton Brothers since 1949 ... he died in 1989 ... and the couple had a daughter, Lisa."

NBA player Jason Collins was spotted taking a stroll through the Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort with his family this weekend. The Washington Wizards center--who became is the first active male professional athlete in a major American team sport to come out publicly as gay--was all about his nieces and nephew this weekend.

Rihanna Courted to Star as Josephine Baker in Biopic
*Some production company called Noosa Films has a Josephine Baker biopic in the works with Rihanna as its first choice to play the lead role.
The ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker is producers’ first choice to play the iconic American-born French dancer in a new biopic about her life, based on her autobiography ‘Josephine’.
Noosa Films won rights to her autobiography “Josephine” from French publishers, Editions Robert Laffont. According to WENN, producer W. Lance Reynolds is hoping Rihanna will accept the part.
“Rihanna is one of the most talented performers of this millennium and with her unique acting and performing abilities I have no doubt she will bring Josephine back to life on the big screen,” Reynolds said in a statement.
Born in America in 1905, Baker became a French citizen in 1937 after moving to Paris
The cabaret star was the first African-American female to feature in a major movie, starring in 1934′s “Zouzou,” and was given the Croix de guerre, a prestigious French military honor, for her efforts in aiding the French Resistance during World War II.
Married four times and mother to 12 adopted children, Baker’s personal life was as notable as her glitzy 50 year career.
The revue performer has previously been portrayed on screen by Sonia Rolland in Woody Allen’s 2011 comedy “Midnight in Paris
Meanwhile, Diana Ross has long lobbied to bring Baker’s life in a biopic but to no avail.
Rihanna recently made her movie debut with a role in “Battleship” in 2012.
Singer Vivian Green Finds Healing In Faith
Soul singer Vivian Green faced every parent’s worst nightmare: her newborn son, Jordan, was not expected to live due to the diagnosis of a mysterious and rare illness. The news was enough to drive her to contemplate suicide.
“When he was born, I was told he would die in seven days and that [if] he [lived he] might be mentally challenged. He was late to walk and talk and he wouldn’t eat for a year and a half. At that point I definitely didn’t want to be here. I didn’t think it could get any lower than that,” she reveals.
Dealing with the pain of Jordan
“My spiritual growth skyrocketed. Sometimes you have no choice but to believe God knows what he’s doing. I realized that He chose me to be this child’s mother, so He thinks I’m strong enough to handle it.”

“He’s amazing,” she says. “He took his first standardized test and tested off the charts. I want him to be a surgeon, but he wants to be a rock star.” she says.

3 NFL Players Busted for Owning A Sex House

Gunfire erupted after a burglary there July 29, and a stray bullet struck Danielle Sampson as she rode in her parents’ minivan, rendering the Apopka High athlete severely brain-damaged.

What the world? They acting like she made the videos. They are acting like she is the only media that reported on this story. SMH!

Last week, Lauryn Hill was sentenced to three months in prison for tax evasion. While her newly inked record deal (complete with a single) with Sony has alleviated a whopping $900,000 off her tax debt, she will still be entering prison sometime this Summer.
Hill blamed a number of factors that contributed to her failure to pay her taxes, including slavery coupled with a handful of conspiracy theories. The judge has ordered that Hill seeks treatment for her beliefs in addition to her jail/probation time.
