Atlanta bishop arrested for allegedly trying to bring gun on plane, report says!

An Atlanta bishop was arrested Wednesday after allegedly attempting to bring a gun on board an airplane, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports.

Bishop William Henry Murphy III was reportedly stopped by security at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport when they discovered, through an X-ray screening, that he was carrying a 9 mm handgun and 10 rounds of ammunition in his carry-on luggage.

According to a police warrant obtained by the paper, Murphy has a license to carry permit but that does not allow him to legally carry the weapon on board an airplane.

Murphy had just been consecrated from pastor to bishop of The Dream Center Church the church's Facebook page says.

Murphy is charged with misdemeanor possession of a weapon in an unauthorized area, the paper reports. His bond was reportedly set at $2,500 on Thursday.

Weekend Box Office: 'Man Of Steel' Soars To $125 Million Debut

Since Man of Steel was actually a little front-loaded this weekend, it’s unfortunately going to matter whether or not you count that extra $12 million from the Thursday Wal-Mart screenings as part of the opening weekend or merely basically ‘bonus grosses’ to be counted exclusively as Thursday figures.   So bear with me, as this might get a little complicated.

Man Of Steel debuted this weekend for a 3.25 day total of $125 million.  If you count that whole figure as its opening weekend, then it bests the $116 million debut of Alice In Wonderland for the second-best opening weekend for a non-sequel behind The Hunger Games‘s $152 million.  It’s also, inflation and 3D bumps aside, that much closer to the $128 million debut of Iron Man 2 and becomes the 13th biggest debut ahead of the $125.1 million debut of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part I.  But if you count just the $113.1 million Fri-Sun total as its opening weekend, which I generally do not, that puts Man Of Steel just barely above the $110 million debut of Toy Story 3 for the June weekend record.

Obviously credit goes to Warner Bros’ marketing department, which cut a series of emotionally potent trailers that actually hid most of the big action beats, even if they (grumble grumble) spoiled nearly every major emotional beat found in the film. Even the last minute action-filled teaser (titled ‘You are not alone’) and the Nokia trailer were cut so quickly as to merely suggest action rather than give away specific scenes (although I’m glad I waited until after I saw the film to watch that Nokia trailer).  Warner Bros. also successfully kept expectations low, offering official predictions of a $75 million debut weekend while even rival studios dared only speculate as high as $100 million.  As such, the $125 million figure is now seen as ‘over performing’ and will be reporting as opening well above expectations. So for the moment, Man Of Steel has reaffirmed DC Comics as a viable brand for big-scale tent poles just as Marvel did with Iron Man five years ago.  So far, so good…

Their goal is to reclaim their titles as the Queens of Hip Hop — as they manage their drama-filled personal careers and lives and search for the next great female MC. MC Lyte joins Lemuel Plummer (Vindicated, The Sheards) as executive producer.

Baltimore Raven Torrey Smith & Fiancée Chanel Williams Reveal Their Engagement Pics

NFL superstar wide receiver Torrey Smith, who helped lead the Baltimore Ravens to victory at Superbowl 2013, is engaged to Chanel Williams.  And earlier today, the happy couple released their engagement pics to The Baltimore Sun.

They posed for pics at the famed M&T Bank Stadium where Torrey's road to victory began.

On her Instagram page, Chanel and Torrey paid homage to one of his famous teammates in the above pic.  She said, "Ray Lewis tribute! Lol"  Loves it!

Chanel also revealed that she'll officially become "Mrs. Smith" in exactly 30 days.

And in case you were wondering.....

Torrey did a great job at picking out a ring.  But, it's not the only big ass diamond in the family.

The Baltimore Ravens just received their Superbowl rings a few days ago.  He tweeted, "Thought I gave @libraladii a nice ring until I saw this...."

Congrats to the couple on their upcoming July wedding.

Recently Shaunie O'neal, Evelyn Lozada and Tami Roman  was talking about why Jennifer Williams and Royce Reed won't be returning to the newest season of Vh1's "Basketball Wives Miami".

Millionaire Producer Ralo Wonder The Reason Porsha Stewart Is Getting A Divorce

The divorce drama between Kordell Stewart and Porsha Williams-Stewart has intensified. Now there’s a new player added to the mix.

Media mogul and NASCAR team owner Ralo Wonder is said to have played a major part in the demise of Porsha and Kordell’s self-proclaimed picture perfect marriage. Mr. Wonder (no relation to Stevie) is also best friends with Mimi Faust’s  from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta new flame Nikko.

Word is Ralo and Porsha had a real steamy side relationship that Kordell got wind of but couldn’t prove it. It all may be coming to light since one of Ralo’s disgruntled business associates got a hold of Ralo’s cell phone with tons of evidence in it.

The associate is threatening to go to the media if he’s not paid money that he claims is owed to him.

Imagine if this person actually got his story sold somwhere. The skeletons would plummet out of the closet if this turns out to be true. We can guarantee Ralo and Porsha definitely do not want that to happen.

But wait, there’s more. Ralo is engaged to Crystal Mocahantas, who is rumored to be replacing one of the Atlanta housewives. Porsha and her divorce battle will only get worse if this information is released, especially after she claimed that Kordell changed the locks on her. If these two ladies ended up on RHOA together the ratings would be through the roof.

FIRST LOOK: Mariah Carey As "Hattie Pearl" In "The Butler"

Mariah Carey is among the A-listers who will be starring in Lee Daniels' upcoming film The Butler (August 16th).  And now, we've got a sneak peek at her character.  Mariah will be playing Hattie Pearl, and apparently, Hattie Pearl was a slave.  AND she worked in the cotton fields.

We're sure many folks are going to having comments about Mariah and someone of her....aesthetic....playing a "field" slave....but this IS a Lee Daniels' film.  It's supposed to make you question, wonder and debate.  Not just say "Bish please."

In the film, Mariah will star alongside Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Cuba Gooding Jr, Lenny Kravitz, Robin Williams and Jane Fonda.

Meanwhile, Mariah, whose song "#Beautiful" featuring Miguel has put her back atop the music charts around the world, will release her 13th studio album on July 23.

Karrueche's Phone Gets Stolen!!!

According to Karrueche Tran's Twitter page, her phone was recently stolen. Not that phones being stolen aren't a big deal, but it's the fact that she didn't have a lock on her phone that's got her in an uproar! Want to know why? Because according to the word on the internet curb, Karrueche was busy twerking when her phone fell off her person. She didn't realize the phone was gone until she noticed the phone was no longer in her possession.

However, instead of thinking she lost the phone, Karrueche is adamant that a bitch stole her phone! Peep her tweet below:

Meet Kanye’s New JUMPOFF who's out to destroy The Kardashian’s

Canadian Model Claims She's Had Sex With Kanye Since Last Year & While Kim WAS PREGNANT...AND He Hit Her Up For Sex LAST WEEKEND?!

So Canadian model Leyla Ghobadi is making a major scandalous accusation saying she has had sex with Kanye West....while his baby mama Kim K. has been pregnant....and hit her up for sex as recently as last weekend.  And Kanye allegedly told her his relationship with Kim is strictly for publicity.

It was only a matter of time before Kanye's "alleged" jumpoffs started flying out the cut faster than an about-to-be-repossessed Bugatti.  And the jumpoff who gets the "I'm first to come out about my ho-liciousness!" crown is Leyla Ghobadi, a model from Canada.

Chick told Star Magazine that she first met Kanye at his concert in Atlantic City at Revel back in July of 2012.  Apparently he spotted her in the crowd whie she was dancing it up, and had a member of his entourage go into the crowd to ask her to meet him backstage and for drinks in Revel's HQ nightclub.  This dude was about to do his shenanigans in a public place like that nightclub--that's all open in the middle of the hotel?  Chile. #HeDontCurr

By the way, Kim was THERE in the VIP balcony section of Kanye's concert that night.  Not sure how Kanye expected to get it in with a random jumpoff while his GIRLFRIEND was there in his room, but the way Kim seems to like his disrespectful lyrics toward her, she might have been OK with being ordered to leave the room for a minute.

Leyla claims she told Kanye "No" because it was "too rushed."  Oh really?  But apparently the NEXT night was less of a rush because she took Kanye up on his offer to meet up after his Revel show the very next night.  Not sure if Kim was still around that night.

Leyla says they ended up making out and next thing she knew they were naked and having sex.

She also says Kanye told her that his relationship with Kim was just 'for publicity and nothing serious'.  Because jumpoffs have hearts and she wouldn't have done it otherwise....apparently.

They met up again for sexcapades in October 2012 in New York before Kanye announced Kim's pregnancy the following NYE.

Leyla says Kanye ALSO hit her up just last weekend to reunite for more sexual shenanigans...but she declined.  When asked why, she said she knows Kim is pregnant and 'I would never do that to someone.'  Bless her and her morals or lack thereof

What does Leyla have to say about revealing all this?

'This is going to destroy the Kardashian family. It’s bad. It’s really bad. It’s just embarrassing. But if I were Kim and about to have a baby, I would want to know.'

Kim's publicist (of course) says it's not true.  But we all know, how you get 'em is how you lose 'em.....

While Leyla says she's not revealing her cheating sexcapades with Kanye for fame, she says she revealed it because she "started to feel guilty."  And she's also requesting people to pretty much make her Twitter account blow up:

With all that said, we can't help but actually believe this chick's story to a certain extent (wouldn't be surprised if she embellished for fame purposes).  It definitely wouldn't be the first time Kanye cheated on anyone, and stories like this are pretty much the norm in the industry.

Meanwhile, Kanye just posted a mini video of himself recording "I Am A God" on his website to promote his upcoming album, Yeezus….Well even more Tea Sips about this chick The NY Daily News has uncovered more Tea. According to NYDN Ghobadi was paid just under $20,000 for her tale — and never took a lie-detector test to help prove her story.

Star’s editor-in-chief, James Heidenry, confirms that spa worker Ghobadi was paid for her tale, but says our number is off. “I can tell you that’s way out of the ballpark,” he says. They also heard news agency Coleman-Rayner had been shopping Ghobadi’s story around for a month and that other weeklies passed because Ghobadi had no proof of the alleged tryst.

Star magazine didn’t mind, though. Famous for giving story subjects lie-detector tests, the editors failed to do so with Ghobadi. “We didn’t think it was necessary in this case,” Heidenry shockingly admitted.

But the mag did recently test rapper AP.9 and discovered he did not have a sex tape with Ice-T’s wife, Coco Austin, among countless other subjects.

Editors also failed to check if text messages Ghobadi claims were from Kanye via a member of his entourage actually exist. “I forget if she either lost her phone or phone broke,” says Heidenry. “One of those two.” Ghobadi claims she ended up in West’s hotel room one night, where “the next thing I knew, we were both having sex! Not the case, a close Kardashian Konfidante tells Confidenti@l. Although West did snap a picture backstage with Ghobadi, along with countless other fans, he left the venue with Kardashian.  “Kim left with Kanye, and her friends went to the club with her security guard, and Kim and Kanye went back to the room,” the source says. “This girl’s story is such bulls*t”!

Janelle Monae COVERS "BILLBOARD", Adds Prince & Miguel To "Electric Lady" DISC

In the latest issue of BILLBOARD Magazine, the gorge Janelle Monae reveals that she's ready take her music mainstream with her upcoming disc, Electric Lady.  The disc (no release date yet) will feature star turns from Prince and Miguel and is ready to set radio on fire.  In the cover story, Atlantic Records Group chairman/COO Julie Greenwald tells BILLBOARD,

"This album has a lot of songs that can get played on mainstream radio. Before, we got a lot of attention in the press, on the blogs, on the video networks. But we didn't crack the code at radio. So if you connect that last dot, it's going to be a significant improvement from the last album cycle. Which is really going to put her music in so many people's homes."

YouTube’s biggest partners are now publicly questioning whether they will ever make enough money from the online video giant to sustain their businesses.

Tuesday at the Stream conference, executives from multi-channel networks echoed a controversial blog post by entrepreneur Jason Calacanis over the weekend in which he chided YouTube for taking too large a cut of his channel’s revenue. The post has been the talk of the online video community since it surfaced — so much so that Electus COO Drew Buckley kicked off his panel by asking those executives for their take.

'Im really looking forward to having a really incredible time on my travels. I think that to be able to tour and travel the world at this time in my life is different than any other time, and I'm really looking forward to experiencing it in a way I never have before. Baltimore Ravens Joke With President Obama At the White House

President Barack Obama praised the Ravens’ resilience, toughness and their commitment to the Baltimore community. However, when it came to paying homage to one of their most dominant and well-known players, Obama made it clear that he does have his limits. The president responded to Ray Lewis’ challenge to mimic the retired linebacker’s elaborate pre-game entrance joking,

“No, I’m not doing that dance. It caused [you] to miss most of the season.”

During the ceremony, Obama joked with the team about the dance steps of Lewis and wide receiver Jacoby Jones, commenting on former Ravens safety Ed Reed for his graying hair and agreeing with Joe Flacco’s assessment that the former University of Delaware standout is an “elite” quarterback.

Chaka Khan’s PR  team released a statement announcing that Chaka Khan has had to cancel four concert dates in June due to extended vocal rest ordered by her doctor.  Including, The Capital Jazz Festival at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD; the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, held outdoors in the downtown Cultural District in Pittsburgh, PA (June 9); an appearance with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra at Columbus Commons in Columbus, OH (June 14) and Joni: A Portrait in Song at Massey Hall in Toronto, Canada (June 18 and 19).

However, Khan will attend the Apollo Spring Gala in her honor on Monday, June 10, at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. The Apollo will induct Chaka Khan into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame at its 8th Annual Spring Gala Benefit.

In addition, the program will include special tribute performances by Patti LaBelle, Mary J. Blige and Deborah Cox.  Time Warner, Inc. will accept the Apollo’s 2013 Corporate Award, presented by actress Sarah Jessica Parker. Carol’s Daughter Founder & President Lisa Price will receive the Percy E. Sutton Civic Leadership Award. Celebrated Emmy award-winning entertainer, Wayne Brady, will host the evening.

Khan’s forthcoming album, The iKhan Project: Alive, originally scheduled for release on July 2, has been rescheduled for release in the Fall 2013. “Due to her doctor’s orders, it’s best that we move the date to give her the proper and adequate time to promote and market the new album,” says Khan’s manager, Tammy McCrary of Chaka Khan Management and Enterprises. “We are looking forward to a great project and a very robust concert and tour schedule this fall.

This year, 2013, marks the 40th anniversary of Chaka’s career in music and entertainment. The celebration will include the release of a series of new albums, titled The iKhan Project. The iKhan Project series will include recorded music in eight genres, including R&B, jazz, pop, rock, gospel, country, classical and dance music.

Tiger, 37, told Lindsey, 28, that they could keep seeing each other, but it was time for her to leave, and a tearful Lindsey began pack¬ing. “It’s over, and Lindsey knows it,” a source told The ENQUIRER. “Tiger wants out.”

Tiger’s ex, Elin Nordegren, who divorced Tiger in 2010 after The ENQUIRER revealed he’d been hooking up with New York party girl Rachel Uchitel, was already furious that Tiger let Lindsey around their kids.

“Elin said, ‘The kids don’t need to see women come and go in his life,’ ” said the source. “ ‘I know him too well – Tiger will get bored and she will be history.’ ”

And that’s exactly what’s happening, says the source.

“Lindsey was never the one for Tiger. She’s miserable, but there’s nothing she can do about it.”

Philadelphia Dedicates Mural To The Roots!

The Roots have been ambassadors for Philadelphia in Hip-Hop and world culture overall since hitting the scene with 1993 debut Organix!. The City of Brotherly Love recently implored a bit of reciprocity to the hometown heroes by dedicating a mural to them in their honor on the corner of Broad Street and South Street.

Mayor Michael Nutter and Mural Arts director Jane Golden introduced the band at a ceremony full of  onlookers and press. "This is about social practice, it's about transformation of individual and community," Golden said.

Consider the painting to be a gift for the group's contribution to the World CommunicationsCharter School (on which the mural sits) via their Roots 101 curriculum. Amber Art & Design artists Ernel Martinez, Charles Barbin, Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, Willis "Nomo" Humphey and Keir Johnston painted the artistic piece.

"It hits close to home for me that this is in South Philly," said lead MC Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter referring to his old stomping grounds. As we know, Thought and Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson's accomplishments have expanded tenfold since their days roaming the halls at Creative and Performing Arts high school. The latter joked about how he "used to walk around the streets of Philadelphia wondering 'Where is my mural?'"

When the laughter subsided, the funky drummer admitted, "All we ever wanted was to make Philadelphia proud of us. It's an honor." If never before, it's clear that The Roots have succeeded.

The Grammy-winning collective recently held the 6th annual Roots Picnic at the Festival Pier.

Nas OPENING A Shoe Store In Las Vegas

Though Nas is one of the most prolific rappers in hip hop history, his name is often missing from the list of the industry's top earners (e.g. Jay-Z, Diddy, Birdman, Dr. Dre) because he hadn't diversified his portfolio like many of his peers.

But things are changing for Nasir and how he structures his finances.  We told you earlier that he invested a hefty six figures in the re-launch of Mass Appeal magazine and now he's added a high-end shoe boutique to his holdings. 

Recently, Nas tweeted a photo of himself at the Las Vegas construction site of the new store, "Sneaker Fiends", saying, "On the construction site for my sneaker store in Vegas !! Comin this year y'all. #SneakerFiends".

The unfortunate thing about this revelation about him fathering the child of Roberson is the fact that he was engaged to his girlfriend of 20 years and she is reportedly heartbroken over the affair.S he needs to be heartbroken over the fact that she stayed “engaged” to a man for 20 Years…  I mean who knows if this is true, but I guess we will find out when her reality show comes out.
